Born in 1955 in the Broughshane area I quickly became aware that I had an aptitude for painting and drawing, and a love of light and colour. At school I came under the guidance of the late Frank Shepherd who directed me through O and A level Art and eventually on to study Graphic Design and Illustration at Art College. During my working life I have always practiced in the art and graphic arts domain carrying out a wide range of occupations (some more illustrious than others) from graphic assignments for national television to signwriting, store promotions for major retail outlets and various other design projects. Eventually I have come full circle and now lecture in Art & Graphics at the NEIFHE and dare I say it, enjoy my painting again. My subject matter is varied although I have become known to a certain extent as a motorsport artist and if you look at the examples shown here you will see that I cover most aspects of life, dreams aspirations etc. In recent years I have held a limited number of exhibitions, among these being The Cafe Lamont Arts Centre, Ballymena Borough Council, Ballymoney Borough Council and Naughton Gallery, Queens University Belfast and a permanent exhibition at Imagos Gallery (Newry). I hope you like what you see!!
